3.1 - Graphing Basic Parabolas

Expected Learning Outcomes
The students will be able to:
1) Given the graph of a parabola, state the vertex, the equation of the axis of symmetry, the domain and range, and the values of x for which the parabola is increasing and decreasing.
2) Determine by looking at an equation if a parabola opens up or down and if it is wider or narrower than the parent function.
3) Graph basic parabolas of the form f(x) = ax^2.
